I am not a trail runner, but Alain, Heini, Geo, and Michelle could not have been more welcoming and accomodating. This was my first time on a Rogue trip, or any organized trip for that matter, and I have very high expectations moving forward. The runs were truly breathtaking and challenging in the best possible way. I always felt comfortable with the pace options and the terrain, even as a new trail runner. I had no idea what to expect from Northwest Ireland but I was truly stunned by the beauty, the weather, and the people.
And the other runners? I mean, I cried when I had to leave, if that tells you anything. The people on these trips are from all walks of life, all ages and running abilities. But what brings us together is a shared sense of adventure and wonder. Everyone was very "go with the flow" (which you have to be with Irish weather), and could not have been kinder. I loved learning about their lives and have no doubt I will get to see these people again in my life, whether on a Rogue trip or somewhere else.
Finally, the guides! Wow! The real deal and extremely kind and funny. Having Geo and Michelle as our local guides to tell us everything about where we were, while Heini and Alain kept us moving and grooving on the routes, I felts so supported and secure from the moment I arrived.
